1. What is all included in my membership?
Your membership includes unlimited access to gentleHOME as well as the bonus access to Exercise Library for Home and Gym. Any equipment you decide to purchase will be purchased separately in the gentleHOME shop (or maybe you already have it lying around at home!). The one on one Assessment can also be purchased through the shop if you chose.
2. What is a gentleHOME Assessment and what is the cost?
A gentleHOME Assessment is a 45-minute one-on-one assessment that will be complete online via Zoom with one of our Wellness Coaches. We will complete a general health screen, movement assessment, posture assessment, determine what equipment you have available, set goals, and answer any questions. General recommendation will be provided regarding exercise type and frequency based on your precautions and goals. Cost is $60.
4. Can I do more than one gentleHOME Assessment?
Absolutely! We are here to help you. Since we physically may not be able to meet the online gentleHOME Assessment is our next best option! If you have already complete one Assessment, but feel you are needing to progress or change your plan, completing another Assessment is a great way to do that with the guidance of one of our Wellness Coaches.
5. What changes can I expect to see week by week or month by month?
That's a tough question to answer when we aren't doing in-person classes or care. We can say that our hope is that you first learn how to do some corrective movements to manage your pain, as well as learn tools to generally help you feel better. Once this happens, you will start to desire exercise that will build strength, balance and cardio improvements. The speed of which you progress depends on your health circumstance, managing pain, building strength, stability and cardio, and how well you balance your choices.
6. Can I share my log in?
No. In order to provide new material, we rely on your membership fees. Each individual needs their own subscription.
7. What if I like the movements in the Exercise Library for Home and Gym but I'm not sure how to do the exercise from home?
You can choose to do a gentleHOME Assessment. Part of that Assessment is going over your environment and equipment at home, as well as movement screen. Those will guide a Wellness Coach to recommend certain exercises or modifications for you. The gentleHOME Assessment is also a great time to ask questions!
8. How do you know if I should be doing a movement or not?
The toughest situation of doing online video classes or appointments is it's hard to have the ability to assess the intangibles of an environment and personality of a person that can play a role in outcomes. If we did not do a gentleHOME Assessment with you, then we don't know you and so don't know how you should choose your videos and precautions. That is why we ask you to discuss restrictions or things to be careful of with your primary doctor or practitioner. The gentleHOME Assessment is a huge step to help determine ways to be cautious or videos and exercises to start with. We do not take the place of your medical or rehab care. Also, if you experience pain, then stop what you are doing. Hurt is not harm. If you are feeling fatigue or pulling that often is ok. Pinching, tingling, numbness, or pain that makes you want to guard movement, are responses you should modify your exercise for. If the pain persists, then stop and follow-up with your practitioner. Be conscientious of any precautions you have because of surgeries or joint replacements as well.
